Sat Introduction to Wine (12pm - 4pm)

SUMMARY
The course designed for people wanting to start to learn about wine.We will show you how to taste, how to recognise quality, how to predict how a wine might taste and how to describe a wine.
Level: This course assumes no prior knowledge or experience.
EVENT DESCRIPTION
Over 18 wines are tasted throughout the course with topics covered including
- How to taste wine
- How to identify flavours and aromas
- How to recognise quality
- Varietal and Regional Characteristics
- Food and Wine Matching
- How to buy and store, or order and drink wine
- Effect of glassware
The aim of the course is to give participants a rounded introduction to wine and allow participants to have greater confidence with choosing wine, and more enjoyment from drinking wine.
NB. For those with a general appreciation of wine already, we would recommend our 1 Day or 4 Week Wine Appreciation Course with Rob Geddes (Master of Wine). These courses go into greater detail and give a more comprehensive insight into the wine industry. This course is designed as an Introduction to Wine for those looking to gain confidence with wine.
FOOD
Up to 6 examples of food and wine matching will be served during the day. e.g. Prawns and Riesling, Mushrooms and Pinot Noir and Lamb Cutlets and Cabernet.
VENUE
This event will be held at 'The Vineyard' Tasting Room, Sydney Wine Centre, Level 1, 119 Harris Street, Pyrmont.
